Agoraphobia

Agoraphobia is best understood as the fear of being somewhere and not being able to escape. Often people are afraid they will have a panic attack, have panic-like symptoms, or that they will do something embarrassing like urinate on themselves or soil their pants.

Often the worst part of agrophobia is feeling trapped and not being able to leave your house or the few places you consider “safe.” Therapy is designed to help you learn that the terrible outcomes you expect are not nearly as likely as your mind tells you. There’s a whole world out there for you to enjoy!
