A phobia is a fear – often people use the term “Specific Phobia” to describe a fear a person has that is not better understood as OCD or Social Anxiety, for example.
Examples of phobias include:
Fear of certain animals (dogs, cats)
Fear of vomit (also called emetophobia)
Fear of driving
Fear of needles/injections
Fear of flying
Cognitive behavioral therapy is a great treatment for phobias and teaches you that the outcomes you are afraid of aren’t so likely after all.
